Faribault’s Heritage Days Celebration has started!
The Rice County Historical Society is celebrating Heritage Days in several different ways.
On Saturday, June 18, Jeff Jarvis will be hosting a program called “Alexander Faribault’s Neighborhood.” Jarvis will bring people back to the time of Alexander Faribault, and talk about what the town founder would have been able to see from his porch in 1853, when the house was constructed. People are invited to bring a lawn chair and sit on the front porch of the house while they listen to the program.
Jarvis will present this program at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and participants will need to have a Heritage Days button.
The Alexander Faribault House will also be open (and free) for tours from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the 18th for those with a Heritage Days button.
In addition, the Rice County Historical Society, along with Dean’s Westside Towing, will be showing off the recently acquired Flecks Delivery Truck in the Faribault Heritage Celebration parade. The parade starts at 6:15 PM on Saturday, June 18, and the parade route starts from the Rice County Fairgrounds, goes south on 2nd Avenue, and finishes at Central Park.
