Join Us At The Fair!

Wednesday, July 21 – Sunday, July 25

It’s been two years since we were able to gather for the Rice County Fair and this year, we’re making up for lost time.

We have many new exhibits including: “Fisher-Price Toys”, “Feed Sack Fashion”, “Rediscovering Bishop Whipple: The Man In His Times”, “Early Farming”, and a collection of American Bison bones that have been collected locally over the last 2 years.

We are happy to announce that, as it was in 2019, this year it is again free to visit Rice County Historical Society’s Museum and its out-buildings for all fairgoers. The outbuildings include our one-room schoolhouse, church, log cabin, Heritage and Harvest Hall, and our newly built Pioneer barn.

Demonstrations will vary daily but will include such activities as blacksmithing, chair caning, spinning, tatting, corncob doll making, and many manually operated woodworking machines. Free children’s activities will be offered Wednesday, July 21 through Sunday, July 25, from noon to 4 p.m. outside the log cabin.

A free scavenger hunt is available for youngsters Wednesday through Sunday of the fair. Children can hunt for answers by going to all of the historical society’s buildings at the fairgrounds, and find the answers and receive a prize at the end.  Scavenger hunt forms are available at any of the RCHS buildings on the Fairgrounds.

We will be open from Wednesday (7/21) to Saturday (7/24) from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We will also be open on Sunday (7/25) from 12:00 to 4:00.

The Rice County History Museum and outbuildings are located on the fairgrounds. The address is 1814 NW 2nd Ave, Faribault, MN 55021. Please call 507- 332-2121 for more information, or if you are interested in volunteering for this event.
