Presented by: The Students of SCOPE (Student Community Outreach Program Experience)
The Rice County Historical Society is hosting a program on World War I, presented by Northfield Middle School’s SCOPE students and their teacher, Earl Wieinmann, on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 7:00 pm.
As a centennial commemoration of the United States entry into World War I, the students of Northfield’s SCOPE (Student Community Outreach Program Experience) have spent much of the last year, researching Northfield’s role, both here and abroad. They have conducted original research by analyzing newspaper articles and other sources to create a presentation aimed at recognizing Northfield’s unique role in the “Forgotten War”. Their presentation will share the stories of how Northfield citizens contributed to and were affected by World War I.
