The Rice County Historical Society Museum is now open on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, from June 3 through to September 2 (Labor Day Weekend.) The Museum, located at 1814 NW Second Ave., Faribault, has exhibits on many local topics as well as a research center.
A tour of the museum makes a great outing for when relatives or friends visit this summer, grandparents taking care of the grandkids, or just to learn more about the county’s history. The museum will also be open Monday-Friday hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors, and $1 for youths. Youngsters 12 years or under are free.
During the summer and fall, tours of the Alexander Faribault House are available by request. Call the RCHS Museum at 332-2121, to request a tour. The cost is $3 for adults and $1 for children. A 24-hour or greater advance notice for a tour is required in order to line up a volunteer to give the tour.
